Spirits of the home

While the world burns, the spirits remain.
2

Hi friends,

Long time no see.

Of course I have more to say about this, about the long time no see. The million things I have been scattering in notes somewhere, and the inability to form anything I want to really share here. When the world burns, and turns even more absurd and obscene— it’s kind of a mindf*ck, ya? It’s been months since I have been here, and that tugs at my heart. But it is what it is. Devotion often comes in waves. So anyway:

Hi, how are you?

We recently bought an old home (first home that has been owned in a very long time) and I have been obsessing on knowing this home, understanding the parts of this home, the history, the language of the home, understanding how the spirits of the home work. Are they mine, theirs, ours? I started digging into some info and and wanted to share a little about one path — Roman animism. I think this will become a short series on my own process of tending to this home— including protection rituals I’ll do before we move in, offerings to these spirits, how I will name them myself, etc. Since we write what we know, or what we are dealing with, experiencing, this is what I got for now. Enjoy.

much gratitude to you,

Xx

MaryBeth
